Lucy Liu heads to India to highlight child trafficking

Hollywood actress Lucy Liu is following Lindsay Lohan's footsteps and heading to India to highlight child trafficking.

Liu, 41, best known for films such as Charlie's Angels and Kill Bill, will soon be flying out to India to make a film about the important issue.

The film will see Liu making her directorial debut and will be set in Mumbai and feature Tannishtha Chatterjee, who appeared in the movie adaptation of book Brick Lane.

Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed said in a statement that he welcomed the move but added that film-makers should focus on the other things that India has to offer and not just human trafficking, poverty and crime.

It is claimed this will be the first of four movies to be made on the topic as Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie will also be making a film each.
